Who handles your data?
MEDIAPAZ, identified above, is the data controller. For questions or to exercise your rights, email contact@pazapah.fr.
When you contact us
The form sends your first name, email address, subject, message and language to our inbox. These fields are required to handle your request. It does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Please avoid including sensitive information.
Proposed legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering questions; steps taken at your request before entering into a contract for prospective collaborations. Authorised pazapah team members and the providers needed to transmit and host messages may access them.
When you rate a recipe
We store the recipe, your rating and a pseudonymous browser identifier to calculate the average and let you update your vote. Only the average and vote count are public; no name or email is requested. French and English pages share the same averages, but each domain has its own browser identifier.
The technical rating cookie is created when you first vote, not when you simply view ratings. It expires after one year. The link between a rating and its browser is removed after 12 months since the last vote, when maintenance runs. Only the vote count and rating sum per recipe are retained to preserve averages. An archived vote can no longer be recognised for editing. Maintenance currently runs when ratings are viewed or submitted; a daily task independent of visits is still to be scheduled. Clearing cookies may prevent an earlier vote from being recognised.
Security and technical logs
To prevent abuse, the contact form keeps a fingerprint of the IP address and submission times, without storing message content in that register. Attempts older than one hour are removed upon a new submission. Ratings use a separate fingerprint and remove counters older than 24 hours upon new votes. These clean-ups do not run without new requests.
Proposed legal basis: legitimate interests in service security. Hosting and email providers may also keep technical logs, including IP addresses.
The newsletter
Subscription takes place on Substack in a new tab. Your email and subscription details are processed to send the Gazette on the basis of consent. You can unsubscribe from each newsletter. The French edition is available; the English edition is still being prepared. Existing subscribers are not automatically added to English.
Substack also applies its privacy policy. Using it may involve processing outside the European Economic Area.
PDFs, videos and browsing
Recipe PDF downloads do not require your name or email. Hosting logs may record the request. Links to social networks and external services lead to services with their own privacy rules.
Your rights
Depending on the processing and its legal basis, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to legitimate-interest processing, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Under French law, you may also give instructions concerning your data after your death.
Email the address above with your request; do not send an identity document unsolicited. Proportionate verification may be requested if there is reasonable doubt about your identity. A response is generally due within one month; a justified extension may be needed for complex requests. You may complain to the CNIL or your competent supervisory authority.
Recipients and updates
Access should be restricted to authorised team members and necessary service providers: OVHcloud for hosting, the services used to send and receive email, and Substack for newsletters. This page will be updated if these uses change.
